Cherry Blossom - made with gum-line and curly cherry |

Brian Duvick, owner of Little Woodshop on the Mountain, was recently accepted into the Tri-Lakes Art Center "From the Earth" exposition. CSWoods is very proud of him! About Brian and Little Woodshop on the Mountain:
"I am a writer, teacher and maker of fine furniture. Our purpose at the Little Woodshop on the Mountain, which has been operating in Southern Colorado since 2006, is to help people construct beautiful, practical living spaces, where they can personally engage in living art—natural, human, refined and active. While we believe in the stability and continuity of traditional styles and techniques, we also think it important to adapt to changing times and tastes. We therefore complement our strong lines with accentual curves and arches for additional support, and highlight active daily use with an assortment of drawers, doors, pigeon holes and writing surfaces. Coordinated and contrasting wood color, grain and figure give our pieces a distinctive presence. Our clients are at the heart of the design process, and it is a delight to see them realize their imagination through the Little Woodshop on the Mountain. We are also dedicated to engagement with the broader Arts and Crafts community and are currently showing pieces in the “From the Earth” exposition at the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts in Palmer Lake, CO.
My work would not be the same without CSWoods. While lots of folks carry hardwoods in Southern Colorado, CSWoods is remarkable for its consistently dry, high quality woods with distinctive grain patterns. When I start a project with your wood, I am confident that design, craftsmanship and material will blend to form a unique piece that will both please and serve for generations." Cherry Blossom is made with gum-line and curly cherry. Thanks to Imar for suggesting the enormous gum-line flitches. The drawers are done in solid cedar. This and all the other pieces in this selection were finished with 5 coats of Tung oil and 2 coats of finishing oil. |

Standing Tall
The base and removable desk top of Standing tall is in Peruvian mahogany (Imar will recognize the 8/4 piece here). The flat writing surface under the desk is inlaid curly cherry, as is the dust cover under the drawer, which too is in solid cherry. |

Pecan Treat is made of CSWoods' fabulous pecan. Good thing too, since, although it finishes to glass, it’s taken a toll on my equipment. The pigeon holes and upper drawers are in walnut. All drawers are dovetailed.
Brian's work can be seen at the Tri-Lakes Art Center "From the Earth" exposition, a juried competition running through February 14, in Palmer Lake, CO. We look forward to hearing from Brian about how he does! |

| The Windsor Chair is carved walnut and turned ash. |

| Jan’s Desk is a custom design according to the client’s specifications - all in gum-line and curly cherry. The drawers are in solid sassafras (thanks to Imar again). All drawer supports are joined with mortise and tenon and are mortised in turn into the carcass (2 doors, 2 sliding writing surfaces and 13 drawers of progressive height - lots of math, lots of work!). |

| The Dygert Chest is in gum-line cherry and lined with aromatic cedar. You’ll see that the top moulding is attached to the underside of the top and outlines the cedar lining. |
