| Teak, a large tropical hardwood tree from south and southeast Asia, is often used for outdoor projects such as patio furniture, and house and boat decks, but its popularity for indoor flooring and furnishings is growing. Its natural oils and durability make it an ideal choice for almost any project, and it offers a classic look with deep, rich color. Teak lumber has become a controversial topic. Its history and use has raised environmental concerns, including the loss of rare old-growth teak trees and questionable harvest practices. But its continued popularity is leading to amazing growth and education in the sustainable production and use of lumber. Collector’s Specialty Woods has become certified by The Forest Stewardship Council, allowing us to offer sustainably grown and harvested teak products. The teak lumber product we offer is part of our work to ensure that we protect and conserve the natural resource of our trees.
